We're not in Kansas anymore

Everything is novel and interesting to us here . . . even what we are served for breakfast. Below are some pictures (click to make bigger).

Here is the first full English breakfast we were served at Stone House Farm in St. Bees - egg (already consumed), bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, juice, tea, cereal, and fruit. After about three mornings, we decided to stick with the cereal and fruit.

This is the morning we hiked out of Grasmere. We had to go over a high pass as the mists were rolling in. Just beautiful!

The countryside is a patchwork of drystone walls dating from medieval to current times. There aren't many people left who can build or repair drystone walls we are told. In this valley, each parcel had a barn.
