Highlights of our Coast-to-Coast Walk

We went back through our pictures and chose some representative and interesting moments along the way from St. Bees Head to Robin Hood's Bay. Again, do click on these images to see the full size. These are really just thumbnails. (This text may not align with the pictures, but you can just scroll up and down.)

1) Susan getting her feet wet in the Irish Sea, with St. Bees Head in the background. This is the traditional start of the walk.

2) Ennerdale Water, early in our walk, reflecting the mountains nicely in the early morning stillness.

3) Shap Abbey, one of the fascinating ruins we've seen on our trip. We seem to gravitate toward these collapsed castles, abbeys, and churches.

4) Sheep deserve mention because they were such a presence on almost all of our walk -- especially the first half. Here is a flock being driven down the street of a small town on our walk. The dog could only run clockwise circles around teh ATV for some reason, but we think he was in training. The woman yelled at him a lot.

5) Rain coming over the moor. Surprisingly we had very little rain, so when it came it was actually quite pleasant.

6) Wind on the headlands above Robin Hood's Bay, very near the end of our coast-to-coast walk.

More pictures as time permits. The Internet Cafe is closing in a few minutes.
